Pitt County Girls 10U Winners of Southeastern Regionals

Our granddaughter, aka Bow-Wow, and her teammates from Pitt County were winners of the Southeastern Regionals 10U!  Second runners up was the Washington, NC girls - many of which are on Bow-Wow's traveling softball team including the head coach.  Washington was also runner up in the State Tournament.  Therefore, at the end both teams took pictures together and were giving each other hugs.

We had storms throughout the tournament, including a microbrust late Friday afternoon.  A couple of folks were injured, but are doing ok now.

Way to go Pitt County and Washington, NC - the big eastern NC teams!!!!

Way to Go! Southeastern Regional Softball Tournament

Pitt County is hosting the Southeastern Regional Softball Tournament for four groups of girls - 8U, 10U, 12U and 16U.  My granddaughter - softball name - "Bow-Wow" is hitter number 4 and third baseball.  Yesterday at the first game she hit two doubles and one triple.  Here are some pictures I took during the game:

What A Wonderful Week!

No pictures today, but will add some soon.

My family was blessed last week with several great events.  However, hard work had a lot to do with it - but, it is nice to see the results of our labors!

1.  My son, Garrett, has a job offer to work with Greenville Fire and Rescue!

2.  The Waters Family Reunion (Mike's side of the family) was really nice.  Not as many people attended as in the past, but those of us there had lots of fun chatting.  The family tree charts I had on the wall were a great success.  Thanks to my son, Greg, for his help in downloading these for me from the computer!

3.  My eldest granddaughter, Madison, and her Pitt County Girls Softball allstar team came in first place for the State Tournament - 10U.  I think the 12U and 16U girls for Pitt County, also, came in first place!  Madison was named MVP!  Great weekend for the Pitt County Girls.  This week they will be playing in the regionals which happens to take place here in Pitt County.  So, wish them luck for another great tournament!!!

Oh, To Be Back in Boone Again!

We spent a few days in Boone last week.  After the first day the temperatures cooled off, and we had a great time!  I read two books and just hung around the campground.  It is still hot in eastern NC, so I am ready to head back to the mountains again!  Really!!
